North American Indigenous delegates National Land Care Conference Visit

2011/2012: Seven Generations International supported another conference visit from North American Indigenous delegates to the National Land Care Conference

Seven Generations International supported another conference visit from North American Indigenous delegates to the National Land Care Conference to deliver a paper on America’s first people’s involvement in the management of their environment and the role of economic development initiatives in building the capacity to be engaged in environmental stewardship.

In January 2012, Seven Generations International facilitated a Large Native American delegation from participating community exchange networks to tour Australian Aboriginal communities in southern Queensland. The trip was a significant investment of time and resources by the organisation and it resulted in an overwhelming success. The delegation of 14 Native Americans’ performed traditional singing and dancing, displayed Indigenous arts and crafts, presented art workshops, and delivered knowledge exchange forums and seminars. They also performed at public performance events and the internationally recognised Woodford Folk festival.
